HAWAIIAN EYE, #162

We take a moment to recognize Israel Kamakawiwo'ole on the 10th anniversary of his death. (Next week, we'll honor him further with a full two hours of nothing but Iz.) But this week, we'll focus on the winners of the 2007 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards -- Hawai'i's version of the Grammys. (The awards are administered by the Hawai'i Academy of Recording Arts.)

It was a big night for Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom, who won for album of the year, female vocalist and Hawaiian album. Also, Kaukahi won for song of the year and group of the year.
